Decorating Cookies

We had baked cookies the other day, but did not get a chance to decorate them then.
This morning, my little helper decided we needed to finish decorating the cookies.

Here she is stirring the icing:

A little taste test:

Okay, I realize that my Kitchen is not at good place to take pictures. There was a window to the left of DD, by I also needed to have the lights on to get anywhere near enough light. Now, the pictures were very heard to edit, cause the colouring is natural on one side of the picture and tungeston on the other. Should have done CWB, but so hard to do when you take a picture, help for a few minutes and then take another picture. Oh well, please excuse the wonky colours.

Just a couple of flower pictures too:

Natural Hearts

For Jax and her Mom

The other day, Jax had a picture of a natural heart in a banana tree, so I thought I would share the natural heart that I found the other day. I found a heart shaped potato in the bag of potatoes that I had just bought.

Just thought I would share these coffee cups with you too. Tim Horton's is Canada's favorite coffee shop, and I think it is so cute that every Christmas they come out with winter cups. Had to take a picture and share before they are all gone and they go back to their regular boring brown paper cups.

I know another day with no Emma pictures. I am sorry, but I was working today again, and by the time I get home it is just too dark for pictures. Here is a quick picture that I took of a candle that I made using a picture of her at the park.

Back to Work

Today was my first day back to work at the flower shop since the Christmas rush. I decided to take my camera and get a few shots over my lunch break. I must say that the lighting in the shop is terrible, and it is very hard to find a blank wall for a good backdrop. I am not sure the grayish wall does this vase justice, but it was it was the best spot I could find.

A dish I found in the office:

I decided to try a few macros. Nothing great cause it is so dark in there. I had my ISO up to 400, and my fstop was at 3.5 and SS around 60, so I had to work with using selective focus in these.

The first two are a Stargazer lily:

Got Milk?

Okay, first off, just let me say that I cannot believe that I am taking more picture of bags of milk. I really need a life. Secondly, I have no idea how to take an interesting eye catching ooo, aahhh picture of a bag of milk so don't mind the boring pictures.

Some of you were wondering how you would actually pour the milk sinced it as in a bag, so I hope that these pictures will help explain . The large bag has three small bags inside. You put one of the small bags in a milk pitcher, cut the corner, and pour away.

Now on to a few pictures from our day.

I was busy doing laundry, and I came out to check on DD, she was being awefully quiet. I found her colouring away at her project centre.

Here she is proudly displaying her finished picture:

The picture itself. I am not sure if you can tell from this small picture, but the black spots are all little tiny cats, from the black stamper marker. She put lots of black cats on the page, cause they look just like Blackie, our one barn cat that she plays with.

Flower Power!

I thought I would go for something a little different today. Just a few of DD showing off the new pair of pants that she picked out the other day. I wish I had a little more room to work with, so that I could have done these with the off centre composition in landscape mode. I think that might have worked a little better.

Notice how she is being all shy and cute:

Now this is more like it!

Okay, I just had to add this one in for you Margie. I was editing the other pictures, when DD said " Mommy, how is my eye makeup?" Well, sweetie, it is eye liner and you have definitely outlined your eyes! Great job for your first try, I think I need a picture of you with your eyeliner on. Surprisingly enough she agreed to 'a' picture.

I think we will have to work on her technique a little, but just thought I would share and give everyone a little chuckle for the day.

Grocery Shopping

Well today was the day, you know when the cupboards are bare and you know that you need to go get groceries. So after play group, we headed off to the grocery store.

The trend around here seems to be to build huge grocery stores with a little of everything in them. At this grocery store there is a fitness club and a doctor's office.

This particular store has an upstairs where the fitness club, a meeting room, cooking classes and washrooms are. I went upstairs to take a few pictures to get a little different perspective.

For this picture, I used f/22, ISO100 and SS 5 sec, I think. I was trying to get a very slow SS, so that I could show movement. I wanted blurry people. I was going for the bustling people at the market. Not sure if it works or not, but I tried.

The store has their own Men's and Women's clothing line. They carry kids clothes and shoes as well.

Some fresh produce

Anna D if you are looking this fish picture is just for you.

I had a request to take a picture of our milk that is all bagged, cause most people from a photography site I go to have not seen bag milk. Their's usually comes in jugs. The picture is not that good as I had to take is through the glass cooler doors and there are lots of reflections.

Here is little Miss Vanna White holding the cooler door open for me to get the milk out.

Love the nice bright dishes that they have gotten in for spring:

WEEEEEEEEEE!

DD needed out of the cart to check out the display of fresh flowers in the floral section.

Around Town

Today was a day for shopping and running a few errands. DD, hubby and I headed as soon as DS was on the school bus. First stop the mall. DD has finally outgrown some of her clothes, so we thought we should take advantage of those January sales.

While we were busy shopping, it had started to snow out. It was a long, slow snowy drive home.

To help pass the time, DD was making faces and asking me to take pictures of them.

See she does not always take a good picture.

Finally, she sleeps!
