Frosty Winter Mornings

A few times each winter when the conditions are just right for us to get frost, as in hoar frost since the ground is already frozen. Basically, hoar frost is a deposit of needle-like ice crystals formed on the ground by direct condensation at temperatures below freezing point. It is also called white frost. It does look like everything is coated and white and it just glistens in the sunlight. It is such a pretty sight, I am not sure that my pictures even do it justice.

Not frost, but I love the icicles forming in the pine trees as the sun is warming the snow causing it to melt.

Winter Fun!

On of E's favourite things to do in the winter is being towed around behind the snowmobile on her sled. We have not had much snow this winter up until the last few days when it started to snow, and has just kept snowing and snowing. We went out yesterday to play in the the snow, but it was still snowing, and very cold and windy. E was just getting to much snow in her face behind the sled so she decided just to play on the snow hills herself.

I would have been so ready to go inside with this much snow in my face, but it did not phase her in the least, she just went on playing.
