These two were hanging out on the old pilings while I out on the causeway in Hyder.

The sun has been shining and spring is in the air down here in the valley and around the Portland Canal.

Jade City

After enjoying a beautiful sunrise, we headed for home.  Traveling south on 37 you pass through Jade City, where coincidentally they have a Jade store.  Actually they cut the large pieces of Jade into smaller pieces right there, so that was neat to watch as well.

Sunrise at Squanga Lake, Yukon

The sunrise the next morning was equally as beautiful as the sunset the night before.

On our way home, we stopped at this nice little campground at Squanga Lake.  The sun was already setting when we pulled in for the night, but I managed to get a few pictures of the fog rising off the water from the cold night air meeting the warm lake water, and the setting sun before it got too dark.

 

Rivers

On the way back from the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, I just had to stop to take a few pictures of the Takhini River.  The colour of the water is just amazing!
