Molokini

Molokini is a semi-circular reef  off the coast of Maui where the snorkeling is great!  Molokini  is a bird and marine sanctuary so no one is allow on the island itself.  On the inside of the semi-circle the the water is crystal clear with lots of colourful coral and fish to see.

On the short boat ride over to Molokini from Maui Emma put on the dolphins finders.

She must have been sending out a strong signal because next thing you know, there were the dolphins.  What a treat to be able to watch them close up.

After our fun with the dolphins we headed over to Molokini to do some snorkeling.  You can already see some of the snorkeling boats anchored in the inside of the semi-circle.

The Road to Hana - Part II

Once you go through the little town of Hana, it is recommended that you continue on the road at least until you reach 'Ohe'o Gulch which is also known as the Seven Sacred Pools.  Now how exactly the name came about, is uncertain as these water are not known to be sacred and there are not seven pools either.  Regardless, it is a beautiful location that is worth the trip.  Often times you are able to swim in the pools.  However the day we were there the water was flowing just a little too much for swimming to be safe, but it still made for some great photo opportunities.

As we continued around the island, we stopped briefly to take in the view and when we looked back we were greeted by this gorgeous rainbow.

The Road to Hana - Part I

The road to Hana is without a doubt the most famous drive on Maui and quite likely all of Hawaii.  The scenery is absolutely breathtaking as you drive the road to Hana with its 600 turns and many, many single lane bridges.
