What a Difference a Day can Make

Isn't it amazing how one day can be so foggy, dull and colourless:

While the next can be so vibrant and alive.

Guess we just never know what Mother Nature has in store for us.

Feeding Time

While in Florida, we visited Gatorland. Yes we saw plenty of alligators and crocodiles, but I think everyone had the most fun feeding the birds.

The girl in charge was so nice. She explained to us exactly what was going to happen before we went inside the cage. We were informed that the birds would land on us but to not be alarmed, as they would not hurt us. She said that they just wanted to drink out of the cup that you had for them, but needed to perch on you to do so. Once she was done she let us in the bird area, and the birds were landing on us in no time flat and drinking away. Here is a few pictures that I captured of some of the action.

When Fall Meets Winter

I did not get a chance to blog these before our holidays so I wanted to go back and share some images from the 29th of October when we woke up to a snow storm. It is so unusual to get snow that early and when most of the leaves are still on the trees. it certainly was pretty, but very hard on the trees as the branches have trouble supporting all that weight. We did lose a few branches but not too many thankfully.

Ops, some left their bike outside overnight!

Many of the buses around were canceled, but not for our school.

There were even a few apples still on the tree

Character Encounters

One of "E's" favorite things at Disney was to meet the characters! I was surprised, I thought she might find those big heads and costumes a little scary. She in fact was quite the opposite, she loved it and gave each one of them a huge hug before posing for a picture. I think Pooh and Tigger were her favorites aside from the Princess, but that is another whole post in itself.

We were even able to "D" in on the action for a few, although he still had to maintain that cool look.

Even though Pooh got two hugs, I think Tigger had the longest hug ever!

Since "E" seems so comfortable with the Mickey and Minnie they asked her to pose this way so that they could kiss and we could have something different than the usual pose. It was so cute! I think all the other people in line wanted this pose too, there were a lot of awes as it was being done.

Walt Disney World

Sorry for the long break in posting on my blog, but we were away enjoying family vacation in Florida.

While in Florida, our first order of business was to visit Walt Disney World to see Mickey and Friends. We stayed at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, and it was only a short boat ride over to Magic Kingdom. Here is the picture from the boat while approaching the castle:

As we entered the park we made our way to the castle to find out that a show had just started:

Mickey and friends during the show:

The beautiful princesses:

We truly had a wonderful vacation, and I have plenty more pictures to share with you in the coming days. As you can see from the pictures, we hit one of those unusual cold snaps while at Disney. Even though I was looking forward to the warm weather, I think the cooler temps actually made walking around Disney for the day quite enjoyable.

What a Sweetie

This little guy was so cute, but very stubborn, he did not want to sleep for me at all. I was able to get a few sleepy looking shots though.

Hope you enjoy these M & M!

Don't they make one beautiful family:
