Cheltenham Badlands
It was such a beautiful weekend that our family decided to take a drive to see the Cheltanham Badlands by Toronto.
Here is a little more information about them copied from this site:
Millions of years ago, what we know today as The Great Lakes, a shallow sea known as theMichigan Basin , centered in Michigan stretched outward to surrounding areas of today’s Illinois , Ohio , Indiana , Wisconsin and Ontario Canada . Mountain streams carrying red iron oxide deposited sediments into the sea forming a large delta which over the years became the Queenston Shale.
This magnificent landscape is believed to form with overgrazing the soft layer of the shale by farming that exposed this red iron rich material. The farming has stopped in 1931, however the erosion continues increasing this remarkable site in size. Ontario .
Now on to a few of my pictures:

The hills and gullies are composed of clay containing mostly red iron oxide and green iron oxide visible as greenish-gray bands throughout the land.

The Polka Dot Diva
I have been eying up this little spot between a couple of building on the main street in town for a while now, thinking it might be a great spot for pictures. Well, the other day I had to go to town, with E, who insisted on dressing up for the trip, so I grabbed my camera in the hopes she would let me snap a few pictures to try out this spot.
E was more than happy to model a little for me! Check out this gate and mossy brick! I love it! It is not wide spot between two building, but it is long and I think has great possibilities. I loved the fact that it was open shade, as these were taken at 2 in the afternoon, and the sun is behind the building, but you still get great light reflecting from across the street.
I think I will be going back here to do some more pictures!

I added a little texture to this, one, and really like the way it brought out the brick.
Don't you just love the outfit, right down to her shoes that E put together to wear to town!

Oh What a Week!
First, my DD decided that she did not need her training wheels any longer!

Then she decided that she wanted her hair cut....much shorter.
Before:

After:

I cannot believe how different she looks with her hair cut. I think I am still in denial over it. As much as I complained about the knots in her long hair, I loved it!!! I am sure this is going to be much more manageable though since she did not like me doing anything with her hair anyways.

Happy Birthday Mr T
I had the pleasure of photographing this handsome little fellow in the morning before his 1st birthday party began. He did not seem to mind the camera and gave me some great expressions.
He was being so funny, sitting up tall and pulling his tummy in while he was sitting in the bowl. Glad I was able to catch him in the act.
