Creative Colour Challenge - Purple

The colour this week was purple, and we were able to use any of the previous colours along with purple if we wanted to. I couldn't resist taking this picture when I saw the green and blue in the centre of the petunia.

IF you like purple, then here is a link to an older post with a collection of purple pictures from a different challenge.

Creative Colour Challenge - Sea Green

I am a little late in posting this, but last week's creative colour challenge was sea green, and the theme was to the sea.

Here are a couple of images I took for the challenge. I like the way colour changes from green to almost green, much like the sea.

I've Been Tagged

I was tagged by Jax . Jax said she did not know who she was going to tag, and well, I am sitting here thinking exactly the same thing....who on earth am I going to tag??? Anyways, on to the questions.

1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?
Funny story about the whole blogging thing. A friend of mine actually started my blog for me. She wanted me to participate in the 30 day challenge and had decided one of the rules of the challenge was to post the picture daily to your blog. Oh it just seemed so much easier to me to have a daily thread on the forum we were on, but no, that was not what had been decided upon. My friend had been discussing this whole challenge thing, and low and behold when I woke up the next morning there was an email complete with a link to my blog complete with pictures already posted. To this day, I have not changed the basic layout of the blog, but at least I have tried to blog somewhat regularly. I know that does not answer the question at all. No I do not wish I was anonymous. It is a photography blog. I am proud of the portraits and memories that I create for people, so why shouldn't I want them to know who I am. Now, if I just wanted to write about whether the dishes got done yesterday or if there are piles of dirty clothes lying around on the floor, well, then I suppose it would be better to be anonymous, but that is certainly not the case here. LOL!

2. Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
I don't think I am a stubborn person. I cannot think of anything that would show I was stubborn.

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the face in the mirror?
I see so many things, but lets just keep it simple, a mother, wife, friend, daughter. The list could go on and on, but I will leave it at that.

4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
Water, seriously, I love water, and drink it all the time. Now if I wanted a treat, nothing beats an iced tea (sweetened of course, I'm Canadian).

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Time for myself, what is that? I guess when I do get some time to myself, I love to go for a good walk. I also love to surf the net and just draw inspirations from the many amazing photographs you can find on line.

6. Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?
I want to travel the world. Spare no corners.....go everywhere. I want to see it all, learn it all and photograph it all. I couldn't have said this better myself Jax. Hey maybe we should plan a trip together.

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the class shy person, or always ditching school? Describe who you were if not one of these.
Gosh, I don't think I really fit into any of those categories. I think I was just a boring, every day run of the mill student.

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what do you see?
There are numerous poignant moments in my life good and bad, all of which I could visualize if I wanted, so I guess it depends on whether you want to focus on the good or the bad.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?
Not easy at all. Not sure why one would want to post such intimate stuff on a public blog and I don't understand why anyone would want to read about my true self. I rather write about events. Stuff I've done.....so much more interesting, don't you think? I completely agree with this Jax. Secondly, my blog is more about my photography so lets see those pictures.

10. If you had the choice to sit and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
Probably sit and read. I love peace and quiet.

Hmmm, now who to tag. How about Jo Ann and Ally.

Creative Colour Challenge - Turquoise Blue

After seeing the cool photographs that some of my photographer friends were coming up with for the colour challenge, I decided I should join in. You can find out more about this Creative Colour Challenge by clicking on the link in the name.

Here is my entry for the turquoise blue colour challenge.

The next colour is sea green. Since I do not live by the ocean I am going to have to think about this one a little bit.

Exeter Dodge Rodeo

Yesterday we had the opportunity to attend the Exeter Dodge Rodeo. How fun to see some Canadian cowboys and cowgirls in action. Little did I know this is the 14th year that the rodeo had been held in Exeter, and it one of the top 10 rodeos in Ontario. It certainly was an action packed afternoon, with some great rides and a few spills. Even though some of the spills looks nasty, no one was seriously injured yesterday.

Bareback Riding
This guy was bounced around a few times on his fall, but was able to quickly get up on his own to get out of the arena.

Junior Bull Riding

Calf Roping

Ladies Breakaway

Steer Wrestling.
I know the fencing is blocking part of the shot, but I like the way the cowboy was digging his heels and the dirt is flying while he is trying to bring down this steer.

What rodeo would be complete without the clown?

Stay tuned for more pictures from the Exeter Dodge Rodeo.
